Client: Therapist near Lewes, East Sussex.
Project: Garden design for an internal courtyard.
Style: Modern but with a soft aesthetic.
This garden needs to work hard. It is not just an internal courtyard, overlooked by many windows, but it is also an access route from 4 doorways. The family wanted it to be a viewing garden, and also one they can retreat too when the rest of the gardens are too hot.
It is also used for her clients. As a relaxing inward looking, private garden, it is perfect for clients receiving counselling.
Garden styling is integral to the success of this design. All furniture and dressing pick out the colours of the stone paving and cobble detail, and the refined copper water bowl and sculpture add an air of luxury to the atmosphere.
Planting includes a multistem acer, and lots of greens, with accents of blues, whites and lime.
