Client: Young family living in a Sussex village
Project: Rear garden design for an architect designed house, built in the 1960’s and rich with existing features.
Style: Modern, with mid-century accents.
The garden design for this 1960’s architect designed bungalow used the proportions of the building and the large picture windows to determine the layout, so ensuring the garden and house worked together.
We re-used existing original materials, as well as designed a large concrete terrace - a material much used in the mid-century.
Planting was soft, but planting in bold drifts to keep the feel modern, but still fitting for the village location. The scheme ensured wildlife was also supported with pollinators fish varieties used in the planting design.
